Here is it folks, the Samsung Galaxy S II’s hands-on video is live and official specification info has been granted, thanks to Engadget. The handset is the thinnest smartphone available, measuring only 8.49 mm (yes, even thinner than SE Xperia Arc), while it boasts with a 1GHz Dual Core CPU based on the Samsung-Made chipset, Exynos.

Let’s take a look at the design. As already told in the previous article, the top of the screen sports the proximity sensor, the speakers and the 2MP front-facing camera for video calling, while at the bottom of the screen you can notice the Menu, Home (Navigation) and Back buttons. The interesting part is the back of the device (previous article didn’t include it), where we can find an 8MP camera which supports 1080p video capture (quite awesome), along with an LED Flash.

The display‘s diagonal measure is uncertain, but we assume that it could be around 4.3 inch, featuring the Super AMOLED Plus technology. According to Engadget, the screen is very bright, opening a possible war between LG Optimus Black’s and Samsung Galaxy S II’s display.

Regarding to the software, we hear that the OS that it’s running is the Android 2.3 Gingerbread, though unfortunately the UI is the Samsung-made TouchWiz 4.0. In the hands-on video, noticeable is the fact that while adding a widget is a lot more complicated than the original Android’s solution.

Here’s the video:

No price detail has been given, although the release will be this month, however, only in Asia and Europe. No word of North America, but we suppose that it won’t last longer than 1-2 months.

Samsung Wave 578, supporting NFC and New Bada OS version

Looks like the NFC (Near Field Communication) technology is spreading away pretty fast, already available on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread, some BlackBerry and the upcoming iPhone devices. As said, Samsung Wave 578 will be introduced at the first day of Mobile World Congress, featuring the Bada OS 2.0 and NFC tech.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Debuts Today!

Before MWC, there’s always going to take place press conference’s, meaning that today Samsung will launch the most awaited Galaxy Tab 2 and Galaxy S2. Last week we’ve seen a lot of rumors, images, specification leaks, but today it’ll be official, hopefully along with the price and release date as well.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Galaxy Tab 2 features a 1GHz (Single or Dual Core) CPU, probably based on the new Samsung-Made chipset Exynos 4210. The Display is 10.1 inch with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, while the tablet will come in three different versions: 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB.

There’s a LTE 4G variant too, for those who need a very good connectivity speed. The handset runs the newly-introduced Android 3.0 Honeycomb, supporting the untouched version of it. That’s pretty cool, because what we’ve saw at Google’s event last month was very impressive. Both devices will be introduced at Mobile World Congress, tomorrow.

Nokia Windows Phone 7 Concept

WP7 Nokia Device Concept is Here!

After the announcement that Nokia will be collaborating with Microsoft, concepts and rumors are already on its way. According to Engadget, this will be the first Nokia handset running Windows Phone 7, possibly presented at MWC 2011. It’s hard to believe that it’s going to be that early, but who knows?

Nokia Windows Phone 7 Concept

The design was actually made by Microsoft and Nokia, reminding us a Nokia N8 and C7 combination. The smartphone will come in different colors, featuring only three buttons at the bottom of the phone: Back, Windows Logo (Home screen) and Search. At the top of the phone we can notice the speaker, proximity sensor and a possible 2MP front-facing camera. The screen should be between 3.5 and 4.3 inch, supporting ClearBlack Nokia technology.

Nokia Windows Phone 7 Concept

Under the hood there might be a 1GHz (Single or Dual Core) CPU, 512 MB RAM, 16 GB internal storage and Ovi Maps via Bing. Personally, I would love to see a phone like that presented at Mobile World Congress, despite the fact that in the last 2-3 years Nokia hadn’t surprise us with a decent high-end smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Specifications Leaked

Samsung Galaxy S2’s Specifications Revealed – Dual Core CPU & Super AMOLED Plus

There is no big surprise that specs of several smartphones – upcoming MWC 2011 devices – are being leaked just before 2 days from the Mobile World Congress. The specifications of Samsung Galaxy S2 has been revealed thanks to the British retailer named Expansys, featuring a Dual Core CPU and an impressive Super AMOLED Plus display.

Samsung Galaxy S2 Specifications Leaked

Of course, no pictures, release date or price info has been granted, but I’m sure that in the next one or two days they’ll be available. The specifications are listed below:

  • Display: 4.27 inch, Super AMOLED Plus, capacitive touchscreen,  800 x 480 pixels
  • CPU: Snapdragon 8260 dual core, 1.2GHz, GPU Adreno 205
  • Connectivity: WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, AGPS, microUSB, NFC, 3G
  • Memory: 512MB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSDHC slot
  • Camera: Back – 8MP, 1080p HD video capture at 30 fps, LED Flash, touch focus; Front – 2MP, Video Calling
  • Other Features: digital compass, gyrometer, accelerometer

There’s no information about the battery life and operating system, but I assume that the Android 2.3 Gingerbread would be the ideal. Additionally, there is a possibility that Android 2.4 will be the running OS, but that’s not sure. I think the Galaxy S2 is a great phone regarding to its specs, if the design and price are going to be decent enough, then the chances for being one of the best smartphones presented at MWC 2011 would be higher than the others.

At last, we have the chance to take a closer look to the design of a 3D display capable Android tablet, the LG G-Slate. The operator that will offer the new tablet is T-Mobile, while having a dual camera which supports stereoscopic (aka 3D) video recording. Considering the technology it supports, LG G-Slate is one of the most exciting tablets that will be announced at MWC 2011, Friday.

The specifications of this device includes a Tegra 2 (1GHz Dual-Core) CPU, an 8.9 inch 3D Display, 32 GB storing space, a 2MP front-facing camera and the unique dual lenses for the 3D video recording. The OS is the newly-introduced Android 3.0 Honeycomb featuring a tablet-like based UI and experience. The design of this handset is very similar to the LG Optimus 2X due to its line of steel that can be found on the back.

Let’s take a look at the Hands-On video:

The gadget is very promising, the only disadvantage could be the price. We believe that it could be around $800, just like the Motorola XOOM. LG G-Slate will be introduced at MWC on February 14th. We’ll keep this updated.
